Do you really know what ovulation is and its importance?

Ovulation Symptoms
Well, ovulation refers to the single release of mature egg (ovum) from the ovarian follicle for fertilization.
It is a very important and normal cycle in your body as a woman, as it involves the releasing of a mature egg and creates the necessary environment for meeting with the sperm for egg fertilization.
The cycle duration would vary from one woman to another, however on an average it takes five (5) days in many women.
It is important to be able to predict your ovulation as it could improve your chances of determining your best time to get pregnant or know when to play safe and avoid pregnancy.
Below are some ovulation symptoms to look out for that will determine if you could be on the ovulation cycle or would be on the way to the cycle.
Physical signs
Rise in Your Body temperature.
Do you know your BBT? BBT stands for Basal Body Temperature which refers to your normal body temperature at rest. It is important for you to know it as it can be used in helping the changes in your body. You could determine it by taking your temperature in the morning when you wake up before going into the day’s activities. A change in rise of your BBT by the range of at least 0.4 degrees Fahrenheit could be a sign to consider that you are ovulating. The rise of temperatures within this range is due to the ovulation process. This could be enhanced by keeping record of your Basal Body Temperature chart.
Abundant or increase in Cervical Mucus
An increase in mucus, which is cloudy and sticky or clear slippery and egg white in your cervix as a woman, is a show that you are ovulating or could be heading to the cycle. Cervical mucus is vital for fertilization of the egg as it enhances sperm flow and swimming from the cervix to the egg and so there should be nothing to worry if you make this observation on yourself.
Mittelschmerz/Pelvic Pain
Mittelschmerz term comes from the German words “middle” and “pain” due to its nature of pelvic pain at the middle of the ovulation cycle. If you experience mild pelvic pains or occasional twinges of pain in the lower abdomen or pelvis to one side, don’t worry, this is a good sign to your ovulation.
There is no specific treatment for Mittelschmerz but don’t be worried about the pains they will eventually go away after the cycle. However there are several over the counter medicines like ibuprofen which help in relieving the pain but the only remedy would be preventing ovulation by taking birth pills. If the pain continues more than two days then it is advisable to see a doctor.
Ovulation Spotting
If you observe bleeding or pinkish spotting in your vagina linings it would be a good sign to determine your ovulation period. It would occur right before ovulation or during ovulation. This is considered as a great sign of fertility. This symptom would be less common in many of the women but is still a sign to look out for, to predict if you are into, or around the time of your ovulation.
Nausea or Mild Headaches
When you are ovulating there are hormonal changes that occur in your body that may result to side effects like nausea and headaches. If you observe this backed up by other premenstrual or ovulating symptoms then you could be around your ovulating period.
Breast tenderness
Increased sensitivity and tenderness, or soreness of your breasts will be a symptom of you ovulating.
Cervix Position
Did you know that your cervix changes position in reference to stages of your cycle? As we mentioned earlier, the cycle takes an average of 5(five) days. Before ovulation it will feel low, easy to reach and closed, and during your ovulation it will be high, soft and more open, while at your ovulation peak it will increase to its maximum.
By inserting one or two of your fingers into the vagina and reaching back you could be able to feel your cervix. Change of position or moisture is a sign to ovulation.
Increased Sex drive/Libido
If you observe a sudden increase in your sex urge or desire or being easily aroused there could be a good chance of you being around your ovulation time. These would be due to the increased hormonal levels and activities in your body.
Mood swings
Mood swings or sudden realization of being energetic and or excitement are signs or symptoms to your ovulation.
So, there you go with about what you have to be careful to observe for determining when you could be into or around your ovulation period.
